신임 주한대사들의 부임을 온 마음으로 환영합니다

방글라데시, 앙골라, 알제리, 파키스탄, 도미니카공화국, 스페인, 인도네시아 등 7개 국가의 신임 주한대사로부터 신임장을 제출받았습니다.

신임장 제정식은 파견국 국가원수가 자국 신임 대사에게 수여한 신임장을 주재국 국가원수에게 공식 전달하는 외교 의례입니다. 정부 출범 이후 처음 개최하는 터라 더욱 뜻깊습니다.

양국 관계가 다방면에서 더욱 견고해지도록 가교 역할을 해 주길 강조하며, 특히 국민의 일상과 밀접한 경제 협력이 활발히 이루어지는 데 적극적으로 힘써 주길 당부했습니다.

It was a pleasure to accept the credentials of new ambassadors from seven countries: Bangladesh, Angola, Algeria, Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Spain, and Indonesia.

The presentation of credentials ceremony is a diplomatic formality where a newly appointed ambassador formally presents a letter of credence from the head of state of the sending country to the head of state of the receiving country. Today’s ceremony was especially meaningful as it was the first since the new Korean government took office.

I urged the ambassadors to act as a bridge between Korea and their home country in order to further strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors. I especially encouraged them to promote dynamic economic cooperation, as it directly impacts the daily lives of our people.

On behalf of the Republic of Korea, a warm welcome to the new ambassadors on their assignments. I wish them a rewarding and happy time in Korea.
