Version: 1.0
United Koreans exists to help Korean-speaking users understand and navigate U.S. systems. These Guidelines apply to comments, profiles, questions, community posts, photographs, links, messages made public through the Site, and similar User Content. The Terms of Use also apply.
1. Core Standards
Contribute accurate, relevant, lawful information; disagree with ideas without dehumanizing people; disclose personal or commercial interests; protect privacy; and correct material errors promptly.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
Do not post or engage in:
- unlawful activity or instructions intended to facilitate crime, fraud, evasion, or violence;
- credible threats, glorification or solicitation of violence, stalking, coercion, or targeted harassment;
- attacks or exclusion based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, veteran status, caste, or another protected status;
- knowingly false statements of fact that materially harm an identifiable person or organization, fabricated accusations, manipulated evidence, or impersonation;
- Social Security numbers, financial credentials, identity or immigration documents, medical records, precise home addresses, private communications, or another person’s sensitive information without lawful authority;
- sexual exploitation, nonconsensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors, grooming, trafficking, or exploitation;
- copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights violations;
- malicious code, phishing, credential theft, spam, scams, pyramid schemes, fake charities, fraudulent investment or job offers, or deceptive immigration services;
- fake reviews, coordinated manipulation, undisclosed paid advocacy, or artificial engagement;
- regulated professional advice falsely presented as individualized advice from a licensed person; or
- evasion of moderation, repeated reposting of removed material, or creation of replacement accounts after suspension.
3. Credentials and High-Risk Information
Do not claim to be a lawyer, immigration representative, tax professional, financial adviser, clinician, broker, lender, insurance producer, or other regulated professional unless the claim is truthful and any required jurisdiction and license information is provided. A disclaimer does not cure unlicensed practice or a deceptive credential claim.
Users should not rely on comments for urgent or individualized legal, health, immigration, tax, housing, investment, or safety decisions.
4. Housing, Employment, and Immigration
Housing and housing-related posts may not state or imply an unlawful preference, limitation, or exclusion. Employment advertisements may not unlawfully prefer or discourage applicants based on protected status. “Korean only,” “no children,” gender-only, age-coded, disability-excluding, citizenship-status, or national-origin language may be unlawful depending on context and is prohibited unless the poster establishes a specific lawful requirement approved by United Koreans.
No user may guarantee a visa, green card, citizenship, job, loan, school admission, investment return, or government benefit, or request sensitive documents through a public post.
5. Promotion and Commercial Content
Promotion must be relevant, truthful, nonrepetitive, and clearly disclose the poster’s business, compensation, sponsorship, or other material connection. Paid listings must use the designated listing or advertising system. Affiliate links, lead generation, fundraising, and regulated-service promotion may be restricted or require prior approval.
6. Moderation
United Koreans may approve, reject, hold, label, reclassify, restrict, edit for format or clarity, preserve, or remove content; limit features; verify identity or credentials; and warn, suspend, or terminate an account. We may prioritize safety and legal risk, but do not promise to detect every violation or resolve every private dispute.
Enforcement may consider severity, context, intent, harm, history, cooperation, legal obligations, and risk of recurrence. Allowing similar content in the past does not waive enforcement.
7. Reporting
Send reports, DMCA notices, and privacy-rights requests to legal@unitedkoreans.com with the exact URL, username where relevant, description, supporting material, and basis for the request. If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, contact 911 or the appropriate authority rather than waiting for Site review.
8. Appeals
An affected user may request review by identifying the action, explaining the mistake, and providing relevant evidence. We may uphold, modify, or reverse an action. We are not required to provide repeated review of substantially identical requests.
9. No Retaliation; No Promise of Publication
Do not retaliate against a person who makes a good-faith safety, discrimination, accessibility, privacy, or legal report. Submission does not create a right to publication, continued hosting, ranking, reach, or account access.
10. Language
This English version controls contractual interpretation to the extent permitted by law. The Korean version provides the same standards for Korean-speaking users.
