United Koreans Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 3, 2026
Last updated: September 10, 2026

United Koreans seeks to handle personal information transparently and only to the extent reasonably needed for its services. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, disclosed, and retained through UnitedKoreans.com and related accounts, comments, community features, message boards, listings, forms, newsletters, and other online features (collectively, the “Site”).

The Site is operated by PAUL AND KATE, LLC d/b/a United Koreans, a Washington limited liability company.

Version: 1.1. Korean counterpart: United Koreans 개인정보 처리방침. Both language versions are intended to describe actual privacy practices; a missing disclosure in one language is not automatically supplied by the other.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the Site and online services controlled by United Koreans. Third-party websites, advertisers, affiliates, social-media services, and other services that United Koreans does not control are governed by their own privacy terms.

2. Information We May Collect

Information you provide

  • Name, display name, and username
  • Email address, telephone number, and other contact information
  • Account profile and login-related information
  • Comments, posts, photos, listings, job advertisements, and attachments
  • Questions, corrections, advertising or sponsorship inquiries, and support communications
  • Newsletter subscriptions and email preferences
  • Information reasonably needed to process privacy-rights requests or legal notices
  • If paid services are offered, order, billing, and transaction-related records

Where payment-card processing is used, United Koreans prefers a structure in which the payment processor handles card information directly rather than United Koreans storing complete payment-card numbers itself. This statement does not promise a particular payment architecture that has not been separately verified.

Information that may be collected automatically

  • IP address and approximate location inferred from an IP address
  • Browser, operating system, device type, and language
  • Pages visited or exited, clicks, search terms, content viewed, and visit timing
  • Referring URLs and interactions with advertising or affiliate links
  • Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar identifiers
  • Login, security, error, spam, and server-log information
  • User-agent, access, and performance information

Comments and accounts

If you leave a comment, information in the comment form, your IP address, and browser user-agent information may be processed for spam prevention and security. A pseudonymous hash derived from an email address may be sent to a profile-image service such as Gravatar, and an approved comment may display a public profile image.

Login features may use cookies for sessions, login status, display settings, and a “Remember Me” selection. A password-reset request may also cause an IP address or related security information to be included in associated records or messages.

Information you make public

Information posted in comments, community posts, profiles, and listings may become public and may be collected or copied by search engines and third parties. Do not publish Social Security numbers, passport or visa copies, bank-account information, tax returns, medical records, exact residential addresses, or another person’s sensitive information in public areas of the Site.

Current processing environment

Current Site configuration confirms WordPress-based Site functions, WPForms forms, KBoard community features, WP-Members membership features, Google Analytics 4, and Google AdSense. These components may process identifiers, contact information, submitted content, technical activity, approximate location, and advertising or analytics information depending on the feature being used. Vendors and retention settings can change, so this Policy does not invent a fixed retention period or a provider-list URL that has not actually been published.

3. Purposes for Using Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and accounts
  • Process comments, posts, listings, forms, and inquiries
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents
  • Improve content quality, search, performance, and user experience
  • Send requested newsletters, notices, or communications
  • Measure advertising, Site usage, and affiliate conversions
  • Comply with legal obligations, handle rights requests and disputes, and enforce policies
  • Investigate errors, maintain backups, recover systems, and protect the Site
  • Use information for another purpose disclosed when collected or for which consent is obtained

United Koreans does not intend to use automated processing as the sole basis for a legally significant decision about a user.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

The Site may use strictly necessary, functional, analytics, advertising, and affiliate-tracking technologies. The Site currently uses Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense. Those services may process cookies, device identifiers, and Site-use information for analytics, advertising delivery and measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement, subject to their own privacy terms.

For more information, see the Korean-language Cookie Policy. If a consent or cookie-choice interface is displayed on the Site, you may use it, and you can also restrict or delete cookies through your browser. Google Site Kit Consent Mode is currently enabled for designated EEA and United Kingdom regions. Privacy-rights or advertising-processing requests may be sent to legal@unitedkoreans.com.

5. When Information May Be Disclosed

Service providers

Hosting, content-delivery, security, database, backup, email, analytics, advertising, payment, customer-support, spam-prevention, profile-image, and technical-maintenance providers may process information as needed to provide their services.

Advertisers and affiliate partners

Cookie identifiers, click or conversion information, approximate location, and device information may be processed to deliver or measure advertising or affiliate activity. United Koreans does not provide account passwords or the private contents of comments or messages to advertisers merely because they advertise on the Site.

Some U.S. state laws define certain disclosures for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Whether a particular law or opt-out requirement applies depends on the law’s thresholds and the actual processing.

Public posts

Comments, posts, listings, display names, profile images, and related information that users submit to public areas may be visible to the public.

Legal and safety reasons

Information may be disclosed to comply with applicable law, subpoenas, court orders, or lawful government requests; protect rights, safety, and property; or investigate fraud, security incidents, and policy violations.

Business transfers

Information may be transferred in connection with a proposed or completed merger, investment, asset sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, or business succession, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal protections.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Advertising Choices

United Koreans does not operate a business that directly exchanges Social Security numbers, account passwords, or private-message contents for money. However, disclosures of identifiers through advertising or analytics technologies may be defined broadly as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under some laws.

Privacy or advertising-processing requests may be sent to legal@unitedkoreans.com. If a consent or cookie-choice tool is displayed on the Site, that tool may also provide choices. Obligations concerning Global Privacy Control or other legally recognized opt-out signals depend on applicable law and actual technical support.

If applicable law requires a separate opt-out link or mechanism for a particular form of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, United Koreans must provide a mechanism that satisfies that requirement. This Policy does not claim that a separate opt-out URL exists when one has not actually been implemented.

7. Retention

United Koreans retains information for periods reasonably related to the purpose for which it was collected, account status, legal obligations, disputes, security needs, and technical backup cycles. Examples include retaining account information while an account remains active and for a period needed for security or legal purposes; public content while published and for moderation or dispute needs; inquiries and rights requests for processing and recordkeeping; access and security logs for reasonable security needs; transaction records for applicable accounting and tax obligations; and backup copies until normal backup cycles expire.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, United Koreans may delete, de-identify, or restrict access to it, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, rights-protection, dispute, and legitimate record-preservation needs.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your residence and applicable law, you may have rights to request access or a copy of personal information, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawal of consent, or an opt-out from certain processing, sales, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may also have rights to appeal certain denials and to exercise applicable privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.

Send requests to legal@unitedkoreans.com and describe the type of request and the account or email address involved. United Koreans may use reasonable verification to protect users and may require proof of authority for an authorized agent. A request may be limited where an exception applies or where compliance would conflict with another person’s rights, security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

9. Consumer Health Information

United Koreans may publish general health or insurance information, but it is not a medical provider and ordinary health content does not ask users to submit diagnosis or treatment records. Do not post medical records, genetic information, reproductive or sexual-health information, health information tied to precise location, or other sensitive health information in comments, forms, or public posts unless a specific feature expressly requests it and provides an appropriate notice.

If United Koreans becomes aware that a user submitted consumer health information that was not requested, it may delete or restrict access to that information except where retention is reasonably necessary to provide a service, protect safety, comply with law, preserve rights, or follow the user’s direction.

Because Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense are currently active on the Site, visits to health-related content may also generate general page-view, device, and advertising-related information. Whether tracking or inferences associated with health-related pages constitute regulated consumer health data, and whether a separate consumer-health privacy policy, consent, or deletion process is required, depends on the actual processing and applicable law and is subject to separate review.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and United Koreans does not intend to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe such information has been submitted, contact legal@unitedkoreans.com. Community and listing-submission features are intended for users age 18 or older.

11. Security

United Koreans seeks to use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards reasonably appropriate to the nature and risk of the information, including access controls, encrypted transmission, updates, backups, security monitoring, and service-provider management where applicable. No Internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Users Outside the United States

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from another country, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate, and those jurisdictions may have different privacy laws.

13. Do Not Track

Because there may not be a uniform legal or technical standard for browser Do Not Track signals, the Site may not respond identically to every DNT signal. Legally recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control where applicable, are handled according to applicable law and actual technical support.

14. Changes to This Policy

This Policy may be updated when laws, technologies, services, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when the Policy changes, and material changes may be communicated through the Site, email, or another reasonable method where appropriate. Consent will be obtained where applicable law requires it.

15. Contact and Privacy Requests

If a privacy request is denied, you may send an appeal to legal@unitedkoreans.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. The currently designated privacy-request route is this email address.
